Relationships Scotland – Counselling Highland is part of a national network of 22 local services offering a confidential counselling service throughout Highland region. We are affiliated to Relationships Scotland who provide training and development for our counsellors and quality assurance to our organisation.
Relationships Scotland – Counselling Highland is a registered charity governed by a Board of Directors who are all volunteers and managed by a small team of employees and volunteers. Relationship Counsellors are trained to diploma level and work to professional standards. They receive regular supervision and continuing professional development and go through an annual renewal process to demonstrate that they have met the required standards. Our sex therapists are experienced relationship counsellors who have gained a further qualification in sex therapy.
Relationship support is vital for everyone in society. Whether married, single, living together, in civil partnerships, divorced or separated, people’s lives are defined and enriched by their relationships with others. We support the Scottish Government by trying to ensure that through supporting relationships, individuals, couples and families can develop their own solution to the problems they may face in their relationships with others to improve their wellbeing, mental health and happiness.
We are looking for volunteer board members
We are looking for volunteers of vision and integrity who have experience, knowledge and skills in their chosen field to join our board and help us strengthen our counselling service. We are especially looking for volunteers with a background in either business development, law, finance, learning development, counselling or business and marketing but you may have other lived experiences which could be useful to us.
If you would like to help us foster mental health and wellbeing in the Highlands and you can contribute your time, experience and leadership one morning for a couple of hours every three or four months please email Anita at email@example.com to explore this volunteer opportunity and find out whether it is right for you.
